Midsummer’s Night Dream

Midsummer’s Night Dream was conceptualised as a romantic poet’s garden of romance. The bride, Elizabeth is of Indian, Chinese and Kadazan heritage whilst the groom, Regis is French. Hence, for their wedding, it was an avant garde affair of classic western and eastern elegance. Royal purple dominated the colour theme, which reflected the refined taste and sophisticated personalities of the couple, with touches of lavender purple and dusky pink so loved by the bride. French baroque prints were carried through in moderation and monogram of couple’s initials were designed by incorporating the fleur-de-lis.
Overseas guests put up at hotels within the town, with personalised welcome notes that greeted them upon check-in. Bus and chartered vehicles were hired to pick them up from designated pick up points. Natasha liased via e-mail with groom’s father in France, bride’s father in Brunei and sister in Perth to prepare a few special surprise performances for the wedding couple.
Chinese sandalwood fans were tagged with Fleur-de-lis monograms. Jordan Almonds and Badam Halwa were given out as wedding favours with personalised postcards of Paris and Brunei that doubled as placecards. The bittersweet taste of Jordan Almonds represents the bitter sweet of life, and traditionally, signifies health, wealth, fertility, happiness and longevity. Badam Halwa is an Indian almond candy and the combination of both signified the marriage between two cultures.
The Peak Xperience also customised the music playlist to cater to the guests mix and designed a signature mocktail themed “French Kiss” for the pre-dinner cocktail.
Love poems, quotable quotes, antique candle holders and purple eustomas adorned a 60-feet walkway leading to the hotel poolside. Guests penned down their well wishes on hand-made note cards and hung them along the walkway which we named “Memory Lane”.
We brought in transparent canopies which were accessorised with glass chandeliers in order to retain the natural beauty of the garden landscape. Just as the sun began to set over the golf course horizon, the solo saxophonist from Mosaic Music Entertainment accompanied the bridal march which saw the wedding couple honouring their parents.
The bride’s little niece opened the night with an adorable welcome note, followed by a peacock dance opening act. Guests were also thoroughly entertained by the groom’s father who taught local guests to sing-along to some French folk songs while the bride’s family closed the night with a Kadazan dance.
After the dinner ended, our team stayed back to pack up all the belongings left at the function while the wedding couple and guests partied the night away at The Mansion, KL.
Peak Xperience’s Favourite Priceless Moments: Special dedication by the bride’s sister and brother who dueted to Michael Buble’s “Everything”. The best man’s toast speech.
