Villa D’este Lake Como – A Fairytale Wedding Destination

- 13 June 2023

Welcome to our next feature where we will be revisiting a beautiful wedding that we planned at one of our favourite Italian destinations – Lake Como. The iconic Villa D’este set the scene for a picturesque wedding that was both romantic and intimate. Nestled along the shores of Lake Como, Villa D’este is a hallmark of Italian luxury, with its rich history and grand architecture. The most notable features of Villa D’este is the Grand Loggia and its iconic mosaic wall. The mosaic wall and the Italian Renaissance gardens are a highlight of any events held there. That was why, with such a beautiful backdrop, the couple didn’t feel the need to over do it with the decorations for their wedding ceremony. Despite this being an August wedding, the couple wanted to keep their wedding colours soft and pretty, with a palette of ivory and pink. The bride wore a stunning gown that flowed in the breeze and the groom looked dapper in a classic tuxedo.

After the romantic ceremony at the waterfront, guests adjourned to Colonne Lawn for aperitifs amidst the glorious scenery of the lake. Sipping champagne and enjoying delightful canapés, guests were treated to a stunning view of the sunset over the lake. Thereafter, everyone moved indoors to the Imperial Salon. The opulent setting was accentuated by a tenor sommelier from La Bottega Musica whose mellifluous notes added to the glamour of the occasion.

The cake-cutting ceremony was followed by groom’s special performance with his groomsmen followed by fireworks display. The after-party at the D’este Club went on till late into the night, with guests grooving to the latest beats and clinching unforgettable memories amid the stunning beauty of Lake Como.

The invitations featured a special surprise – a custom-designed silk scarf with mosaic details of the property, designed by Indonesian stationery designer, Tandy from Kartoe. This was a unique touch that added a sense of luxury to the invitation. The scarf was a keepsake that guests could use on the day of the wedding and remember the special occasion for years to come.

The welcome dinner was hosted on top of Cernobbio, where guests were treated to a stunning vista of Lake Como. In consideration of the long journey, since majority of guests arrived in Lake Como on that day, the dinner was kept casual without any dress code.
